Abstract

Through the lens of code reviews in software development, we explore the effect and importance of the context around the changed code when understanding problems and complex connections. Context, in this case, can be things such as author, test cases, comments, problem description, and running the code. What is the effect of purposefully removing context, and in what ways and why do people actively seek to expand it?
